Train
The Williamsburg Amtrak Station (WBG) is in the heart of town. The Amtrak Northeast Regional leaves twice daily from D.C. (WAS), Alexandria (ALX), and Richmond (RVR or RVM (both stations work)). There’s typically one departing in the morning before 10 a.m. and one in the evening before 7 p.m. from any of these stations. Check Amtrak for the most up-to-date information.
Taxis & Ride Shares
There are plenty of ride share (Lyft and Uber) options in Williamsburg. Additionally, ride shares from ORF, RIC, and PHF airports directly to Colonial Williamsburg are available. You can order one upon arrival or schedule one to be waiting for you in advance in the app. We have used a ride share from all three of these airports before. Rental cars are accessible at all of the airports listed above, too. If you’re flying into DCA, though, we’d recommend taking the train.
The Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge, and Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel & Suites offer complementary rides to the train station via a small shuttle. Let us know in the RSVP form if you’re taking the train, and we can help with transportation logistics. The RSVP form will go live Spring 2026. Williamsburg also has free public transit (WATA) to help you navigate the area (and can easily take you where you need to go from the train station).
